Prospective Delegates

Year-Long Academic Delegates 2009 - 2010

The way the League of Creative Minds, Model UN Program will run in the fall will be the following: The League is at the moment partnering with select High Schools in the Bay area, as well as several middle schools.  The League will keep the founding middle school delegation for all delegates on the Peninsula from 6th to 8th grade but separate some of the older founding delegates from it.  Therefore, this will be a Middle School Delegation for all 6th to 8th grade students whose Middle School we are unable to reach.

Instead, older delegates will now form a delegation composed of students in the 9th to 12th grade whose high school we were unable to reach or for those students seeking our method of teaching specifically, and/or are looking for a greater academic challenge.  Therefore, this will be a High School Delegation for all 9th to 12th grade students whose High School we are unable to reach.

International Delegation.  The League will begin an observation process to select an International Delegation that will compete at the Hague in 2011.  This delegation will be composed of any student from 7th to 12th grade that demonstrates to the the directors to be in the top 5% of all delegates in the League.  These delegates will be invited privately at the initiation and at the directors discretion.

Spanish Delegation

This option is for League delegates that are currently in a regular delegation and who want to expand their grasp of the Spanish language by mastering speech and debate in Spanish.

In the summer of 2010, the League will compete and live in Buenos Aries, Argentina, for one month.  The League delegates will spend two weeks attending an Argentinian school, in a class of  the same grade level.  The league delegates will have their own house in Buenos Aires (for two weeks), for the purpose of attending a MUN all-Spanish conference and attending a local  private school.  After the first two weeks, the League will set out for an exploration of the Argentinian countryside visiting ranches, glaciers, deserts, lakes, the end of the Andes, and natural pasture lands.
